Football-Bundesliga - SC Freiburg extends Rosenfelder's contract

Freiburg's sports director Klemens Hartenbach has extended the contract of defender Max Rosenfelder. The 21-year-old homegrown talent was promoted from the second team to the professionals last summer but could not play a single game in the Bundesliga due to a Patellar syndrome.

"Max really had a difficult year," said Freiburg's sports director. Rosenfelder's "great athletic abilities, combined with his ability to suffer," will make Freiburg "look to the future with great confidence." He enjoys "every single training session with the team," Rosenfelder himself explained. The club made no statements regarding the duration of the new contract.

Freiburg SC, based in Freiburg, Germany, is known for nurturing local talents, as evidenced by Klemens Hartenbach, the club's sports director, extending the contract of defender Max Rosenfelder. Despite being promoted to the first team from the second team last summer, Rosenfelder, hailing from Freiburg, missed out on playing a single game in the Bundesliga due to Patellar syndrome. Clemens Hartenbach highlighted Rosenfelder's resilience, praising his "great athletic abilities, combined with his ability to suffer," which will give Freiburg FC confidence for the future as they continue to compete in the Football Bundesliga, the top tier of German soccer, in the region of Baden-Württemberg.
