Russo-instigated assaults in Sumy result in nine fatalities
Ukraine is once again under assault, with drones and rockets from Russia bombarding the city of Sumy, resulting in at least nine fatalities. Medical facilities are also a target for Russia's attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has some harsh words for these actions.
Two Russian assaults on a medical facility in Sumy have led to at least nine deaths, as per Ukrainian authorities. The initial attack on Saturday morning claimed one life, as reported by Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. Russia launched another attack while patients and staff were seeking refuge, resulting in twelve additional injuries, according to the military administration of Sumy. Russia is suspected of using Shahed drones against the facility during this attack.
Ukraine's air force claims to have downed 69 out of 73 Russian drones and two out of four missiles fired overnight on Saturday. According to Kyiv city officials, approximately 15 drones were shot down close to the Ukrainian capital's region.
Anyone with knowledge of this conflict worldwide understands what Russia is aiming at, as stated by President Zelensky on the social media platform X: "They are waging war against hospitals, civilian targets, against human lives. Only strength can compel Russia to pursue peace."
One More Fatality in Kryvy Rih
A male corpse was discovered underneath the debris of an administrative building that was struck by a Russian rocket last Friday in the city of Kryvy Rih. This brings the death toll from that assault to four, as per officials.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that Russian air defenses had intercepted four Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region and one over the Kursk region, both of which border Ukraine, where Russia is currently invading. A person was killed and two were injured in Ukrainian shelling, according to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, in the Russian border town of Shebekino.
The attack on Ukraine, specifically in Kryvy Rih, has resulted in an unfortunate additional fatality, bringing the total number of deaths from that incident to four. President Zelensky's sentiment about Russia's actions remains unchanged, declaring, "They are waging war against hospitals, civilian targets, against human lives."
