Russian television is contemplating a comedic series featuring Joe Biden as the lead character.

A comedy show featuring a fictitious ex-U.S. President Biden is slated to commence filming in Russia. It's doubtful that this TV show's primary aim is mere entertainment.

Russian audiences might soon be entertained by a comedy series starring a fictional ex-Joe Biden. As per U.S. news outlet "Politico", citing a press release from Russian entertainment channel TNT. According to this, the former U.S. President serves as the main character in a sitcom named "Goodbye". As a retired president, he embarks on an incognito trip to Russia to "get a feel for our world" and "comprehend the Russian spirit", as stated in the release. The real aim, however, appears to be to discover "why U.S. sanctions against Russians fail to have an effect".

The filming is set to commence soon, as per "Politico". However, it's unlikely that the storyline stems from Russian creatives' fascination with global politics: Leaked Kremlin documents reportedly reveal ties between the Russian political structure and various film and TV projects commonly used for propaganda.

According to the script, Biden misplaces his passport on his first day in Russia and is compelled to live in a typical Russian apartment building and teach English to make enough money for his return journey. A "dedicated Russian patriot" aids him in this quest.

In the show, Biden will be portrayed by famous Russian actor Dmitri Dюchev. He views the role as a chance to "blaze new trails". He refers to the sitcom as "an audacious attempt".

The European Union has expressed concern over the controversial comedy series featuring a fictitious ex-U.S. President Biden in Russia, given its potential to fuel political tensions. Despite the EU's reservations, the show, titled "Goodbye," is set to air on Russian entertainment channel TNT.
