Russian projectiles strike Odessa area, resulting in eight fatalities.
After Russia bombarded the Odessa region's port infrastructure with rockets, officials confirmed that eight lives have been lost. Governor Oleh Kiper shared this information on Telegram, mentioning a 26-year-old fatality who succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Previously, he had reported a 46-year-old port worker's tragic demise, who had been injured earlier. Initially, a total of six casualties were reported. About a dozen individuals were harmed. Kiper didn't specify the exact location of the rocket attack. Reports earlier pointed out a missile headed towards the Chornomorsk port near Odessa.
On local social media platforms, there was an urgent need for blood donations. At least two individuals were wounded in the southeastern Ukrainian industrial city of Kryvyi Rih, when a five-story residential building took a hit from a Russian drone strike.
In light of the events, international human rights organizations have called for an investigation into potential war crimes committed by Russian forces in the Odessa region. The unprecedented damage to civilian infrastructure and the loss of innocent lives further intensifies concerns about Russia's disregard for international humanitarian law.
