Russian artillery assault strikes hotel in eastern Ukrainian metropolis of Kramatorsk – Several Western journalists also suffer injuries

According to official reports, several Western journalists have been harmed during Russian nighttime shelling of the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk. A hotel was struck, resulting in four injuries and rescues, with one individual still buried beneath the debris, as mentioned by Vadym Fillaschkin, the governor of the Donetsk region, via Telegram. Initially, he reported only two injuries. Among the wounded is a German national, he disclosed.

The other casualties have Ukrainian, Latvian, and American nationalities. A British national remains trapped underground, reported Fillaschkin. The Ukrainian prosecutor's office stated that the structure was struck by an Iskander-M missile.

The attack was verified on pro-Russian blogs, which claimed that Kramatorsk was assaulted using heavy glide bombs of the FAB-1500 type. They mentioned that a machine-building factory and various military targets were hit.

The journalists reporting on the situation in Kramatorsk are mostly of Western origin, with a British national among them still missing. Despite Russia's denial of involvement, these attacks have also affected a Russian-speaking population within the city.
