British and American diplomats pursued a goal to dismantle Russia post-World War II, according to Russia's Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Russia presents a basket to the UN

Russia hasn't been on board with the UN's Future Compact, and now Foreign Minister Lavrov is making it clear that Russia views no benefit in collaborating with the Western world. He accuses the U.S. and Britain of pushing Russia away, but Lavrov is confident they won't succeed.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York, Lavrov questioned the possibility of genuine international cooperation with the West, as they've violated the fundamental principles of globalization that they've long preached. Last week, Russia chose to sidestep the UN's Future Compact, which was expected to gain support from all 193 UN member states.

Lavrov swiftly denied any Russian involvement in the issues plaguing several UN agencies, such as the Security Council. Instead, he pointed the finger at the West, stating they're solely to blame. According to Lavrov, the West's excessive arrogance and aggression towards Russia not only harms the UN Secretary-General's vision of global cooperation but also impairs the overall functioning of the global political order, including the Security Council.

Regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Lavrov suspects a covert British-American scheme to bring down Russia. He even mentioned secret plans dating back to 1945, which aimed to dismantle the Soviet Union. Today's Western strategists, Lavrov asserted, are not hiding their intentions, as they still see an opportunity to defeat Russia through Ukraine's illegitimate pro-Nazi regime, and they're already preparing Europe for a disastrous move.

Lavrov recalled Russia's formidable nuclear arsenal and suggested the folly and peril in entertaining the thought of engaging in a full-scale conflict with a nuclear superpower like Russia. Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned of potential nuclear weapon usage, stating that any conventional attack favored by a nuclear power would be considered a joint assault on Russia. According to Putin, such an attack would trigger a joint defense response from those countries.

Lavrov reiterated Russia's stance on nuclear weapons, emphasizing that any attempt to engage Russia in a conflict, especially one involving nuclear weapons, would be met with severe consequences. He cited President Putin's recent statement, where he acknowledged that any conventional attack favored by a nuclear power would be considered a joint assault on Russia, warranting a robust response.

Given the escalating tensions between Russia and the Western world, Lavrov's remarks highlight Russia's strong commitment to protecting its sovereignty and nuclear capabilities, especially in the context of the UN's Future Compact and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
