Russia denies entrance to 92 American individuals – following a week of American sanctions.

A week following the United States imposing sanctions against Moscow due to their invasion of Ukraine, Russia hit back by prohibiting entry into their country for 92 American citizens. As stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry, this list includes journalists, staff from the US Treasury Department, and personnel from the US Air Force.

In response to the alleged Russophobic policies of the Biden administration, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that these 92 individuals are now permanently banned from entering Russia. The ministry also warned the current U.S. administration that repercussions would inevitably follow any hostile actions taken.

Among those affected are journalists from renowned publications such as "The Wall Street Journal," "The New York Times," and "The Washington Post."

Last week, the United States imposed sanctions on roughly 400 companies and individuals across Russia, Belarus, and other nations due to the invasion. According to U.S. statements, around 60 technology companies in the defense sector were targeted, as their "products and services reportedly support Russia's military efforts."

The Russian Foreign Ministry's ban on 92 American individuals extends beyond the US government, also affected are journalists from prominent European Union publications like "The Wall Street Journal" and "The Financial Times."

Furthermore, the European Union has expressed concern over the escalating tensions between Russia and the United States, calling for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation and uphold international peace and stability.
