Basketball - Rostock sign Latvian international

Rostock Seawolves have reinforced themselves with Aigars Skele. The Basketball Bundesligist announced that the Latvian national player has signed a contract with the Mecklenburgers for the upcoming season. The 30-year-old Point Guard last played for Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski in Poland. The Bundesliga experience he gathered in the 2021/22 season was in Würzburg.

"Aigars will help us greatly with his leadership qualities and experience at the Point Guard position," said Seawolves trainer Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz: "He is a very good playmaker who can also score points himself when necessary."

Skele's signing marks a significant addition to Rostock Seawolves' roster, as they prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga season. Originating from Latvia, Skele brings valuable international experience to the team based in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Prior to joining Rostock, Skele had a stint in Poland with Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski, where he gained experience in the Bundesliga during the 2021/22 season, specifically with Würzburg.
