Thunder and Traffic Jam - Rheinland-Pfalz starts into the summer holidays
For over 430,000 pupils and pupils in the Rhineland-Palatinate general schools, today is the last school day before the summer holidays. They could start their holidays with a bang - at least as far as the weather is concerned.
According to the forecast of the German Weather Service, today there is expected to be thunderstorms with partly strong showers. However, the weather could improve by Sunday: It is supposed to be at least dry with up to 26 degrees.
Anyone who wants to escape the rather mixed weather for their holidays should pay attention to traffic jams, according to the ADAC. "In Rhineland-Palatinate, the A1, A61, and A3 are particularly affected," the ADAC Mittelrhein announced. These are important connections to popular holiday destinations and recreational areas in the north and south.
The holidays in Rhinland-Palatinate last until August 25th.
