Football-Bundesliga - Report: VfB Stuttgart signs Demirovic from Augsburg
The transfer of Ermedin Demirović from Augsburg to Bundesliga rival VfB Stuttgart seems to be perfect. According to Sky reports from Saturday, the Bosnian football national team striker is set to join Stuttgart for a record transfer fee of 21 million Euros. Augsburg could also earn an additional 5 million Euros in bonuses. Demirović reportedly signed a contract with VfB until 2028. The VfB supervisory board reportedly gave the green light for the transfer. An official confirmation was still pending.
Demirović scored 15 goals and set up 10 in the previous season. At VfB, he could replace Serhou Guirassy, who is reportedly on the verge of a move to Borussia Dortmund. The planned transfer of Guirassy, which costs 18 million Euros, remains uncertain. According to information from the German Press Agency on Thursday, a further medical examination of the 28-year-old striker is planned at the beginning of the coming weeks. Since the 18 million Euro professional failed the medical check, the already existing four-year contract was not signed at first.
As video recordings from the "Ruhr Nachrichten" showed, Guirassy traveled from Stuttgart's airport to Dortmund a day after his failed health check. The Bundesligist did not provide any further details about the severity of his injury during the first team training on Thursday.
