Extremism - Report of the Berlin Constitional Protection Agency will be presented
The report of the Berlin Constitutional Protection on extremist tendencies in 2023 will be published on Tuesday after the Senate session. In the annual report, the developments and risks from Left-extremists, Right-extremists, so-called Reichsbürger, Islamists, and also foreign intelligence services will be described. In the previous year, the conflict in Gaza following the Hamas' Islamic terrorist organization's attack on Israel and the effects on Berlin played a significant role for the Constitutional Protection. The annual report will be presented at the Rotes Rathaus by Senator for the Interior Iris Spranger (SPD) and the head of the Constitutional Protection Michael Fischer.
- The report highlights the main objective of the Senate in addressing the rise of Right-wing extremist groups, such as Right-wing extremists and Reichsbürger, in Berlin.
- The conflict between Israel and Hamas' Islamic terrorist organization in Gaza last year significantly influenced the presence and activities of extremist groups in Berlin, according to the Constitutional Protection's annual report.
- The Senate meeting will discuss the challenges posed by various extremist groups, including Left-extremists, Islamists, and foreign intelligence services, as outlined in the report from the Constitutional Protection.
- Given the growing threat of extremism in Berlin, the Senate will continue to prioritize efforts to combat all forms of extremism, including Right-wing extremism, as identified by the Constitutional Protection.
