Spectacular personnel change - Report: Former head of Microsoft Germany joins Google

The former head of Microsoft Germany, Marianne Janik (59), is switching to Google as reported by "Wirtschaftswoche" starting October 1st. She is set to become the successor of Daniel Holz (55) and head of the Cloud business at Google in the Nordic region as well as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Google declined to comment on the personnel matter. "All we can confirm is that Daniel Holz has decided to leave Google Cloud to take on a new role," a Google spokesperson told dpa.

In the Cloud business, Microsoft and Google are fierce rivals: Microsoft is the second largest player behind market leader Amazon. 2. The news of Janik's shift from Microsoft to Google was published in esteemed business magazine "Business Week," providing insight into the dynamic shifts happening in the technology sector.
  3. With the launch of its first Cloud data center in Hanau and plans for further investments in Berlin, Google is not only challenging market leader Amazon in the Cloud business but also pushing boundaries in Internet-based information technology in Germany.
  4. As she transitioned from Microsoft to Google, Janik left her personal details behind and embraced the unique software environment of her new role, ready to contribute to Google's Cloud business in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
