The organizers of the LIT:potsdam Literature Festival can draw a positive balance: With around 6,000 visitors, there was a record participation this year. The one-week festival under the motto "Forward to Nature!" with approximately 30 events came to an end on Sunday.

Readings took place with numerous authors from Benedict Wells to Cornelia Funke to Marc Uwe Kling. Film screenings and discussion events were also part of the festival program. Previously, the "Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung" and "Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten" reported on it.

Book Festival at the end

For the second time, literary critic Denis Scheck took over the artistic direction. Among others, Scheck spoke with the British bestselling author Helen Macdonald and author Judith Schalansky. Filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff exchanged views with former Berlinale CEO Dieter Kosslick.

According to estimates, around 1,200 visitors came to the Book Festival in Schiffbauergasse on Sunday. There, publishers from Potsdam and the region presented themselves. "We are thrilled about the great interest," said the managing director of the festival's sponsoring association, Marianne Ludes - and all the more so in the face of strong competition from the Football European Championship.
