Public viewing weather - blown by the wind or Spanish heat?
Rain, Thunder, Storm - closed fan zones. The match against Denmark was meteorologically challenging for some at Hartmannsdorf. Things will be much different on Friday. Against Spain, a friendly summer evening in the south is expected, especially in the south. The further north it goes, the more robust the fans need to be.
In two days, the German team will face the big tournament favorite Spain in the Football European Championship. The Nagelsmanns helped us against Denmark with a match interruption. When the initial momentum of the Germans began to wane, heavy weather moved over Dortmund - the referee halted the game. After the break, the DFB team came out of the locker room better and eventually made it to the quarterfinals.
Such support is not expected from the weather this time, as the game starts at 18:00 hours. It's expected to be beautiful and warm in the stadium in Stuttgart. The players on the field therefore have no excuses. With 22 degrees Celsius and plenty of sun, we expect great football weather.
But what about public viewings in the country?
There's a lot going on with the weather right now, summer has disappeared, it's quite wet and above all cool. And on the following Thursday, a low-pressure system is coming towards us and bringing autumn weather to the north. A rainfront is also moving from west to east, bringing stormy gales at the sea, and there could even be thunderstorms.
But then the low pressure has passed and we're on our way to the Germany game on Friday - it's moving quite quickly in the south. With the Foehn wind at the Alps, it's already 26 degrees there. The public viewing in Munich will therefore be quite summery.
However, in the north, the wind is causing problems
The further north we go, the more troublesome it gets. In the west, clouds could make things a bit gloomy, but it's expected to stay dry. The east is also not a problem for the communal fever against Spain.
But in the north, the storm from Thursday is still lingering. Rain showers are falling in the northwest, and thunderstorms are possible in Schleswig-Holstein. The wind is still strong. For example, wind gales of wind force 6 to 7 are possible in Hamburg. That can be quite uncomfortable – at least the rain showers will be less frequent in the evening.
In summary: In the north, some public places could be blown away by the wind, in the south the conditions are excellent. The Spanish weather forecast for Stuttgart will surely please the Spaniards. We hope that our boys can at least make use of the home advantage.
The international football community might be affected by the unsettled weather conditions, given the potential thunderstorms and strong winds expected in parts of Germany. Despite the challenging weather, the Germans managed to advance in their previous match against Denmark.
