Overview of the situation - President Zelensky announces more security agreements for Ukraine

In their efforts to secure international support and strengthen their security, Ukraine is preparing new security accords with their supporters. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke of four new accords in his evening video message without naming specific countries.

"We will begin negotiations in the near future and must prepare the documents relatively quickly for signing," he said. These accords pertain to defense support, finances, and humanitarian cooperation. With almost 30 such accords with partners, this would be the case.

The Ukrainian government has made it its mission to involve various countries - not just NATO countries - in this endeavor. "But they are all equally ready to help us defend our shared values," he added.

Among the most significant security agreements for Ukraine are the accords with the EU, Germany, France, the USA, and Poland. The first such accord was signed with the United Kingdom at the beginning of the year.

Russian attacks target Kramatorsk

Russian troops have attempted to advance towards the city of Kramatorsk in the eastern Ukraine region of Donetsk. The General Staff in Kiev reported 22 attacks at various positions along the frontline in their evening situation report.

These Russian attacks in this region were supported by eleven air strikes. The advances were repelled, according to the report. However, these claims could not be independently verified.

The Ukrainian battlefield reconnaissance discovered a tactical short-range air defense system "Tor" near Donetsk, as reported by the UNIAN agency. The system was reportedly destroyed by an American HIMARS rocket artillery system shortly after its discovery. These claims could also not be independently verified.

Russia reports Ukrainian drone attacks on the Crimea

The Crimea was reportedly targeted by Ukraine with drones, according to Russian authorities. The city of Sevastopol's military commander, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced on Telegram that more than 15 drones had been destroyed over the sea near the port city. No damage was reported to buildings in the city, which has been under Russian control since 2014. Fragments of drones were reported to have landed in a residential area, and a truck was damaged. The situation is being monitored.

Since the large-scale invasion began two years ago, Russia has used the Crimea as a logistical and attack base against Ukraine. The number of casualties and damages on Russian territory bears no relation to the extensive destruction and thousands of deaths and injuries in Ukraine.

Search for the murderer of Ukrainian politician Iryna Farion continues

In the western Ukraine city of Lviv (Lemberg), the search for the murderer of controversial politician Iryna Farion continued. She was shot dead near her home on a Friday.

The police had previously released images of the suspected killer. Wanted is a man approximately 20 years old, between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall. His face is barely visible in the images due to a scarf and sunglasses.

Farion was a nationalist who served in the Ukrainian parliament for the far-right Swoboda (Freedom) party from 2012 to 2014. She was best known for her harsh criticism of Russian-speaking Ukrainians, for whom she saw no place in the country.
