Possible Swiss locations for the ESC 2025 announced

The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will take place in 2025 either in Basel or Geneva. However, Zurich and Bern/Biel have been ruled out, according to Swiss Radio. The selection process considers factors such as arena concept, public transportation access, sustainability, hotel accommodation situation, safety and waste management concepts, and overall support and motivation from each city, it was stated. The winning bid will be decided definitively at the end of August. The cost of organizing the event is estimated to be around 30 million Euros.

According to a recently published survey, a narrow majority of Swiss women and men have a negative view of hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Switzerland. Swiss music talent Nemo won the competition in May with the song "The Code" and brought the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 to the Swiss Confederation.

Despite the negative sentiment among many Swiss people, several venues in Switzerland remain as possible options for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Basel and Geneva are still under consideration, both offering unique arena concepts and excellent public transportation access. The final decision, considering factors such as sustainability and overall city support, will be made by the end of August, potentially incurring an estimated cost of 30 million Euros.
