Criminality - Police: Father is suspected of killing family members

After the violent incident in Albstadt, Swabia, the police suspect a familial homicide. According to the reports, a 63-year-old man shot his 84-year-old mother-in-law, his 24-year-old son, his 26-year-old daughter, and his 59-year-old wife with a weapon on a Sunday afternoon. The son and mother-in-law are reported dead, the daughter and wife are severely injured and still being treated in the hospital, the police stated. The 63-year-old man then committed suicide.

Investigations into the background and motive of the crime are ongoing, according to the police. It is also unclear whether the man used one or multiple weapons during the crime and if he legally possessed them as a hunter. There are no indications that other persons were involved.

Neighbors reportedly heard gunshots on Sunday afternoon and called the police. The on-site forces allegedly found three deceased individuals and two severely injured.
