Authorities will widen their investigation into the disappearance of nine-year-old Valeriia from Döbeln. Initially conducting a localized search within the town and questioning residents, they will now delve deeper into the area itself, a police spokesperson for the Chemnitz Police Directorate announced.
A substantial team is available to aid in the search. An exact number of officers involved wasn't initially disclosed. Yesterday, about seventy officers dedicated their time to locating Valeriia, having gone missing on Monday.
According to authorities, Valeriia was last spotted on Monday morning, departing for school just after 6:50 am. However, she failed to show up at her school. The police are reaching out to the public, asking for diligent looks in residents' own gardens, basements, garages, or sheds for any sightings of the girl. All leads are being explored, with a violent crime being considered as a possibility, informs the police.
