Police arrest fugitive criminals in Bavaria

Relieved in Lower Bavaria. The 24-year-old escaped convict is back in custody. He previously evaded his escorts during a day release. Police warn and describe him as "extremely dangerous".

Police in Lower Bavaria have apprehended the escaped convict from Deggendorf. The officers announced this. The public search for the 24-year-old has been called off. Around 11:30 PM, the convicted murderer was arrested near a supermarket in the neighboring town of Plattling. He offered no resistance, according to police reports. Previously, tips from the public are said to have led the officers to his trail, as stated in the announcement.

He managed to evade his two escorts during a day release. According to the "Bild" newspaper, he was supposedly at a cinema. Police launched a public search and described the man as "extremely dangerous". The public was advised not to approach him or offer him a ride.

The 24-year-old is said to have been convicted of murder, according to "Bild". In 2021, he is alleged to have killed a fellow resident in a homeless shelter in a brutal manner. He is said to suffer from schizophrenia and believed that the fellow resident was possessed by demons. For this reason, he was being treated at the district hospital in Mainkofen, Deggendorf.

The police had issued a warning about the dangerous escaped convict, urging people to avoid him. Upon his arrest, the duty was handed over to the local police in Plattling.
