Police are closing off the Bundeswehr-Fliegerhorst Cologne-Wahn

The Cologne-Wahn Air Base has been cordoned off by police, with no one allowed to enter or leave. There are indications of a disruption in the water supply, and a hole in the fence has been discovered.

Investigators at Cologne-Wahn Air Base are looking into suspicious activities at a waterworks, suspecting a crime against the German Armed Forces. The barracks have been sealed off, as reported to the German Press Agency on Wednesday. Initially, Spiegel reported this. According to the report, field hunters and the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD) are also involved, investigating the suspicion of a sabotage action.

After indications of a disruption, a hole in a fence was also discovered, suggesting the initially unconfirmed suspicion that the water supply may have been sabotaged. Water samples were also taken for investigation.

According to these reports, no one was allowed to enter or leave the barracks, which were cordoned off by police. Several units are stationed in the barracks, including the Air Transport Wing of the German Armed Forces, responsible for the travel of cabinet members and high-ranking government officials.

The suspected sabotage at the waterworks could potentially disrupt the water supply for the Air Transport Wing, as investigators explore further. The discovery of a hole in the fence adds credence to the initial suspicion of tampering.
