Unknown perpetrators have bored holes into a 75-year-old tree in Barleben (Landkreis Börde) and likely poisoned it. A witness brought the authorities' attention to the fact that the oak tree in the Meitzendorf district was showing massive damage and the ground beneath it was severely damaged, according to the police. During the examination of the tree, three deep holes with a diameter of three centimeters were discovered. It is assumed that a harmful substance was introduced into the tree through these holes. The police are asking for tips. Further details were initially unknown.
