The priciest shipbuilding venture in the Bundeswehr's background is underway: Four frigates of the F126 kind are being crafted in Wolgast for the German Navy. Defense Minister Pistorius remains dissatisfied with this outcome, though.

Six months since the project commenced, the primary F126-type frigate was assembled in Wolgast. "This vessel will be named after my home state and crucial Bundeswehr base, Lower Saxony," mentioned Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at the pyramid-founding ceremony at the Peene Shipyard. He underlined the relevance of this occurrence for the venture. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig, Lower Saxony's Chief Minister Stephan Weil, and project stakeholders were also present, affixing nails into the foundational plank.

The upcoming F126-class frigates are expected to be the German Navy's most substantial fight vessels. They are also the most costly shipbuilding endeavor in the Bundeswehr's camaraderie, with a total expense exceeding five billion euros. The project might occur even more costly. "We require six of these frigates, not merely four", persisted Pistorius.

"We need to boost the Bundeswehr's combat proficiency as promptly as viable," he elucidated. "The Turnaround necessitates we spend on tomorrow's fleet instead of tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, so we can ward off necessities in the future." Pistorius affirmed. The F126 warship is a key manifestation and plain demonstration of this. "By creating a full set of six frigates, we'll not only be deployable but also resilient."

A corresponding resolution has been deposited into parliament. Prime Minister Schwesig also supported the Federal Defense Minister's offer to construct a fifth and sixth frigate. "That would be a significant enough message for the Navy and further, for military shipbuilding and here at this location," Schwesig articulated. The corresponding industry is amenable to the construction of an extra couple of frigates. "We're well prepped and in a position to intensify production," commented the NVL Group's acting CEO, Tim Wagner.

The warships are scheduled to be tailored for worldwide deployment and feat comprehensive tridimensional naval conflict. "The F126 can target pursuits beneath, on, and overhead the water with the latest armaments," shared Pistorius. Primarily in Germany, under the supervision of the Dutch shipyard Damen Shipyards in Wolgast, Kiel, and Hamburg, the development of the previously planned four frigates will occur. They foresee the transferred frigate being bestowed upon the Navy by the shipyard in 2028.

Boris Pistorius, the Defense Minister, is pushing for the acquisition of additional F126 fighter jets beyond the naval force's current four F126 frigates under construction in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, expressing the need to strengthen the German Armed Forces' combat capabilities. The Navy's five billion euro project, already the Bundeswehr's most expensive shipbuilding endeavor, may incur even more costs if six F126-class frigates are constructed, as suggested by Pistorius.
