Criminality - Personnel attacked - Investigations against 30-year-old

A 30-year-old man is suspected of assaulting a Conductor and a locomotive driver in a regional train. According to a spokesperson for the Federal Police, the 30-year-old did not have a valid ticket. Since he also refused to provide his personal details for a fare increase, the conductor ordered him to leave the train at the next stop.

The 30-year-old is reported to have insulted the 38-year-old conductor in response. Later, the 30-year-old is said to have pulled the conductor into the toilet, punched him in the face, and kicked him. When a locomotive driver tried to help the conductor, the 30-year-old is also said to have punched her in the face.

The conductor, according to the Federal Police, was taken to the hospital. However, a spokesperson for the Federal Police stated that he was not seriously or critically injured. The locomotive driver was lightly injured and did not have to go to the hospital. The police are now investigating the 30-year-old for the suspected crimes of aggravated battery, insult, and obtaining services by fraud.

The incident on the train has highlighted the need for enhanced training and awareness among train personnel about dealing with such instances of criminality. The 30-year-old's behavior towards the conductor and the locomotive driver was a stark reminder of the determination needed to ensure passenger safety in Baden-Württemberg's railway traffic. It's crucial for every train to have an accompanying person, especially during peak hours, to provide an additional layer of security and assist in such situations. Despite the incidents, the Federal Police is reassuring the public that they are actively monitoring and maintaining safety on train routes.
