- Person interferes with the amplification of power transmission towers – potential compensation?
After an individual invaded the area prior to the demolition of the Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant's cooling towers, operated by Preussenelektra in Hannover, they're evaluating compensation claims. At the moment, we can't disclose the extra expenses involved, as the estimation process is still ongoing, a representative from Preussenelektra declared.
The demolition faced delay
The unidentified 36-year-old scaled a power pole within the restricted zone right before the planned demolition of the recognizable cooling towers, set for last Friday evening near Schweinfurt. This unexpected incident led to a delay of approximately one and a half hours in the demolition process. Following this, authorities initiated an investigation against the man for potential extortion, trespassing, and violation of the local ordinance issued by Schweinfurt district office. Shortly thereafter, the 36-year-old, presumably an advocate for nuclear power, was detained by the authorities.
The district office release on August 13th included regulations for the cordoned-off area both before and after the demolition, which stated that violations of the entry restriction could attract a fine of up to €1,000.00.
Initially, it was ambiguous whether the expense of the police and emergency services, including the high-angle rescue team, would also be charged to the individual.
Due to the disturbance caused by the 36-year-old's unauthorized entry and scaling of the power pole, the demolition faced a delay. The authorities are considering including the costs of the police and emergency services, including the high-angle rescue team, as part of the compensation claims for this disturbance.
