"It's very hard for me to leave FC Augsburg, as I had a wonderful time here and found many friends. The FCA gave me a lot of trust and allowed me to develop as a player and collect valuable experiences as captain," Demirovic stated in the FCA announcement. "With the transfer to Stuttgart, I want to take on a new adventure - and play in the Champions League."

FCA sports director Marinko Jurendic paid tribute to Demirovic at his departure as "an example in terms of commitment and mentality." He had scored many important and beautiful goals in the previous season and was an essential pillar of our team both on and off the pitch." Jurendic is aware: "It won't be easy to replace his departure."

CEO Michael Stroell highlighted the economic aspect. "Such transfer fees, which we have not had in this magnitude before," are of great importance for the FCA "to prepare ourselves as best as possible for the future."
