Passau city removes emergency status.
The city of Passau in Lower Bavaria has lifted its disaster status as flood conditions improve. Water levels on the Danube and Inn rivers are starting to decrease, according to the city administration on Tuesday. The Danube remains in the second highest warning level three, but is expected to reach warning level two on Wednesday.
The Bavarian Interior Ministry stated that the disaster status on Tuesday only affected the districts of Günzburg and Donau-Ries. The Bavarian Flood Information Service (HND) predicted on Tuesday that there would be partially rising water levels at other parts of the Danube, mainly in warning levels one and two. It is expected that these areas will also see the flood recede on Wednesday.
In the western part of the Danube in Bavaria up to Donauwörth, the flood with the undercutting of warning level one is coming to an end. With the German Weather Service forecasting only "minor precipitation at the Alpine fringe" in the coming days, the situation is expected to ease further, the HND said.

Despite Passau's successful removal of its disaster status, parts of the Danube in Bavaria, particularly those in warning levels one and two, are predicted to experience partially rising water levels in the coming days. Unfortunately, Passau's relief from the flood situation serves as a reminder of the ongoing disaster case in other Bavarian cities.
