Weather, unc lossesically unfavorable - Parts of the castle wall in Bad Vilbel sunken
In Bad Vilbel, parts of the Waterfort's wall have collapsed. "We assume that this is related to the storm last evening," said a spokesperson for the city in the Wetterau district. This concerns a section of the wall that was supposed to be renovated this year, he added. No people were reported injured according to initial information. Previously, the private radio station Hitradio FFH had reported on this.
It was initially unclear whether the collapse would have consequences for the operation of the Bad Vilbel Festival Plays, which are held in the castle. Representatives of the city and the festival management are currently on site to assess the damage, the spokesperson said. The city will announce further details at a press conference at 11.00 am. A violent storm caused numerous police and fire department interventions in the Rhein-Main-Area on Wednesday evening.
The Wetterau District, where Bad Vilbel is located, is known for its varied weather conditions. Despite this, the spokesperson attributed the wall collapse at the Waterfort to the recent storm. The Bad Vilbel Festival Plays, held in the castle, might be affected by the damage caused by the storm.
