Part of the business premises closed for bomb disposal
After the second bomb discovery within a few weeks at Tesla's factory in Grünheide near Berlin, preparations for the disposal of the explosive device began in the morning. The police have cordoned off areas within approximately one kilometer radius of the discovery site.
According to earlier statements from the company, a part of the Tesla production site is also affected, but the production has not been affected. The railway station Fangschleuse was also closed, neither trains nor buses are running to it until the bomb is defused. The community had announced this in advance.
The approximately 250 kilogram bomb was found about a week ago on an area where the Tesla car factory is to be expanded. The bomb cannot be transported and must be controlled and detonated on site.
The exclusion zone also includes a nearby Tesla protest camp of activists. The activists had to vacate their camp on Tuesday.
The bomb disposal team is scheduled to conduct their operations at the specific part of the Tesla Factory in Grünheide. Due to the proximity of the site, the business operations at Tesla's expansion area might be temporarily affected. After the evacuation of the Tesla protest camp at the nearby site, bomb disposal experts will approach the Bomb disposal site at the Tesla Factory in Greunheide.
