In a Gymnasium in Luckenwalde, a part of the ceiling covering in the auditorium has given way. During the incident on a Wednesday, a theater group was present. However, no one was injured, according to the Teltow-Flaming district administration. The fallen ceiling covering measures about two meters by two meters.

The auditorium is closed. Extensive repairs are now underway. Planned theater performances have been cancelled. The teaching at the Friedrich-Gymnasium is not affected, the Landkreis stated. In Brandenburg, the summer holidays are due to begin in the coming week.

It will be investigated if there is a technical possibility to continue using the auditorium, it was stated. To do this, the old ceiling must be removed. "Its renovation was already planned and was scheduled to be carried out next year. Currently, about six months are being calculated for the completion of the construction work", the Landkreis shared.

The Gymnasium in question is located within the Teltow-Fläming District, specifically in Luckenwalde. Despite the emergency in the auditorium, the regular school activities at Friedrich-Gymnasium are continuing as planned in Brandenburg. The investigation into the possibility of using the auditorium temporarily will require removing the old ceiling.
