Boris Palmer resigned from the Green Party around a year ago after a scandal over the use of the N-word at a migration conference in Frankfurt.

Palmer envisages a potential return to the Greens.

Boris Palmer, the mayor of Tübingen, has considered rejoining the Greens. He believes that such a move would be beneficial for both parties, according to a statement given to the German Press Agency.

In the past, Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir expressed a similar sentiment, suggesting that Palmer could rejoin the Greens under certain circumstances. Özdemir stated, "I could imagine it," during a function of the "Zeit" publishing group in Hamburg. "People shouldn't be written off; that should be done only rarely."

The incident that led Palmer to leave the Greens occurred approximately a year ago at a migration conference in Frankfurt. His membership had already been questioned due to some other contentious remarks he made previously. Consequently, Palmer decided to revise the commenting policy on his Facebook page.
