Over a dozen lives tragically lost in a terroristic assault in Mogadishu.

In a brutal act of terror, a bomb went off in a restaurant in Mogadishu's capital, Somalia, resulting in at least eleven casualties as per the local law enforcement. The horrific explosion was controlled remotely. Mainly civilians were among the fatalities, with a fortunate four individuals managing to survive with injuries. The eatery is popular among security personnel as well.

Just a while back, UN security advisories warned UN staff about the likelihood of imminent terrorist attacks. They were urged to steer clear of public events and government offices.

It's been barely two weeks since Al-Shabaab terrorists bombarded a hotel on Lido Beach, Mogadishu. Over 30 individuals lost their lives due to the violence unleashed by the militant group. They targeted beachgoers and indiscriminately fired their weapons.

The extremist group Al-Shabaab has retained control over certain regions in Somalia, but they've been forced out of the capital in recent times. Nevertheless, these radicals continue to carry out attacks on government establishments and venues that are perceived to represent a Western lifestyle, such as hotels and restaurants.

The UN security advisories proved prescient as the recent attack on the restaurant underscores. The horrendous assault on civilians and security personnel is a stark reminder of Al-Shabaab's ongoing terrorism in Mogadishu.
