In Canada, about 800 wildfires are currently causing chaos. As reported by the managing body, the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center (CIFFC), 223 of these are uncontrolled. The renowned Jasper National Park in the country's western region is also under siege by these flames, fighting them for weeks.

Due to the wildfire situation, this famous national park in the Canadian Rockies is temporarily off-limits to tourists, as announced on the park's site. All camping bookings till September 3 have been scrapped. The fires have ravaged over 33,000 hectares of land.

"Feels like living in an apocalypse or a war zone"

Following an evacuation notice, residents managed to re-enter Jasper town last Friday, as per Canadian Press. Approximately a third of the town's infrastructure has been decimated by the fires.

Pictures exposed entire neighborhoods turned into ashes. Amidst the piles of rubble, burnt-out automobiles and charred trees could be seen. "Feels like living in an apocalypse or a war zone," a resident recounted.

Last year, Canada endured wildfires on a scale never seen before. Specialists caution that with climate change, fires are becoming more frequent and destructive.

Other parks in the region are also at risk due to the spreading wildfires. Efforts are being made to redirect tourist traffic to unaffected areas to support the Canadian tourism industry.
