European Football Championship - One last time in the fan zone
The EM finale on Sunday evening is the last chance to see a game in the Frankfurt Fan Zone. In this approximately 1.4 kilometer long area along the Main river, there is room for 30,000 people. The games were broadcast on ten large screens.
At the beginning of July - after the five Frankfurt games had passed - the city took an interim balance. Up to that point, 716,000 female visitors and male visitors had been counted in the Fan Zone. Mayor Mike Josef (SPD) said that this number was far above expectations.
Due to thunderstorms, the Fan Zone had to be closed several times temporarily or could open later than planned. Once, a tree fell over in the storm, but no one was injured.
The Fan Zone in Frankfurt am Main, despite interruptions due to weather conditions in Germany, has provided an exciting environment for over 716,000 soccer fans throughout the European Football Championship. For those still keen to experience the electrifying atmosphere, they have one final opportunity during the EM finale. The Fan Zone, situated along the Main river, offers a spacious area for up to 30,000 viewers, with ten massive screens displaying each game. Despite some challenges, the Hesse Commune has ensured that security measures are in place to ensure the safety of all attendees, making it an unforgettable experience for soccer enthusiasts in Frankfurt, Germany and beyond.
