Once again no majority for further approval of glyphosate
There is still no majority among the EU countries for the continued approval of glyphosate.
According to diplomats, representatives of the member states were once again unable to agree on a common position on the EU Commission's proposal to allow the use of the product for a further ten years on Thursday. Brussels can now decide on approval on its own.
Despite the ongoing attempts, a majority of EU countries consistently fail to approve the further use of glyphosate under its authorization for another ten years. This situation leaves the EU commission with the authority to make the decision on its own. However, this situation has arisen again, as EU representatives were unable to reach an agreement on the matter during the recent meeting.
