Observable Presence of Russian Drone in Schleswig-Holstein

For the past few days, several drones allegedly belonging to Russia have been sighted hovering over a significant industrial location in Brunsbüttel. Authorities are maintaining a heightened state of readiness, with rumors hinting at a potential link to Moscow. Currently, probes are underway due to suspicions of espionage with destructive motives.

As per Bild's report, Russian-linked unmanned aerial vehicles have been reported frequently breaching the restricted airspace working above the defunct nuclear power plant and LNG terminal. Multiple drones have been observed zooming at high velocities over Brunsbüttel.

According to Bild, a suspected hostile entity was identified, believed to be a military drone. This drone is speculated to be an "Orlan-10," capable of reaching an astonishing 600 km distance and exceeding 100 km/h speed. Bild claims these drones are connected to Russian operatives and may be launched from civilian vessels in the North Sea.

Drone activity in the North Sea commenced on August 8, with the most recent spotting occurring on Wednesday night. On August 20th, a drone surpassing 100 km/h was detected by authorities. As a result, security forces in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony have been kept on high alert.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Flensburg confirmed to Bild that investigations into espionage with destructive intentions are currently ongoing. These inquiries are linked to repeated drone activities jeopardizing crucial infrastructure in Schleswig-Holstein.

The Orlan-10 drones, reportedly connected to Russian operatives, have been a cause of concern due to their high-speed flights over Brunsbüttel. These drones, with a range of up to 600 km, have been frequently sighted in the North Sea, raising concerns about potential espionage activities.
