- Obama expresses confidence in Harris: "Indeed, she's capable."
"Got a solid contender here in Kamala Harris for the Dems," Obama declared at the Chi-town Dem convention. "She's got what it takes for the job!" he shouted out, channeling his iconic "Yes, we can!" catchphrase from '08. The delightful crowd of thousands echoed his words, shouting back, "Yes, she can!" causing occasional interruptions throughout his speech.
"This is our opportunity to vote in someone who's dedicated their life to fighting for equal opportunities. Someone who truly sees and hears you all," Obama shared about Harris. "She's got your back!"
"We're looking at a tight race," Obama warned, focusing on the upcoming struggle against GOP's presidential candidate, Donny D. "It won't be a walk in the park." But if we put in double the effort from the remaining 11 weeks leading up to the election, Harris could just clinch the title of the next POTUS. "Let's roll up our sleeves and get to it," the 63-year-old urged the party members.
"Obama strongly endorsed Kamala Harris, stating, 'She's the one who could become the next President of the United States,' during his speech."
"With a determined rally ahead, Obama exhorted, 'Let's work together to elect Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States.'"
