Balance - Nürnberg Trade Fair expects record sales in 2024

The NürnbergMesse, one of the largest trade fair companies in Germany, is expected to generate sales of over 350 million Euros in this year. This would be the highest revenue in the company's history, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024. The highest revenue of 315 million Euros was achieved in the year 2018. The business year 2024 is expected to generate a profit in the two-digit million range, as a spokesperson stated.

The previous business year closed with a revenue of 265 million Euros, according to the company's statements - the second highest revenue in an odd year. Since many fairs take place in a two-year cycle, odd-numbered years are traditionally the less profitable ones. The pre-Corona level of 285 million Euros from the year 2019 was almost reached. The trade fair business recovered much faster from the pandemic than expected and is growing pleasantly, according to Managing Director Peter Ottmann. A loss of around one million Euros was recorded in 2023.

A total of 137 events are scheduled in the calendar for this year, including 68 in Nuremberg. The city of Nuremberg and the Free State of Bavaria co-own the company, which had previously employed around 1110 people.
