Weather Event Brings High Winds and Rain to Area - No more hunt for firefighter lost in flood waters.

A firefighter who went missing in floods in Swabia is no longer actively being searched for. The 22-year-old man is assumed to have drowned and will likely be found once the water recedes. He was on his way with a DLRG rescue boat in Offingen near the border with Baden-Württemberg during nighttime on Saturday to Sunday. The boat, operated by five emergency personnel, capsized in strong currents. Four emergency team members aged between 24 and 70 managed to reach land and were unharmed.

Quickly following the incident, volunteers from the local fire brigade, the DLRG water rescue, water police, Bundeswehr, and police started searching for the 22-year-old. If the 22-year-old indeed passed away, he would become the fifth known victim of the flood in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.

Rescuers discovered two dead individuals in an empty cellar in Schorndorf, east of Stuttgart. The victims were a 58-year-old homeowner and his 84-year-old mother. As per eyewitness accounts, both were hard at work, pumping water from the flooded cellar of their home.

Meanwhile, in Schrobenhausen, Upper Bavaria, a 43-year-old woman met her end in the cellar of a flooded house over the weekend. In Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, a firefighter was found deceased while conducting a rescue mission.
