US Democrats - No doubts
The former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has pledged her support for Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential candidacy. "With great pride and boundless confidence for the future of our country, I support Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency of the United States," Pelosi declared on Monday. "Politically speaking, there is no doubt: Kamala Harris is brilliant and sharp-witted as a woman in politics – and I have full faith that she will lead us to victory in November," Pelosi added.
Pelosi and Obama were hesitant about Kamala Harris
The statement from the influential Democrat politician came after several other party colleagues had already pledged their support for Harris. Pelosi was the first to publicly express doubts about Biden's health status in the face of concerns about his mental and physical fitness.
The 81-year-old Biden announced on Sunday that he was withdrawing his candidacy due to doubts about his mental and physical fitness and endorsed Harris instead. The candidate to be nominated, who will run against Republican Donald Trump in the presidential election on November 5, will be chosen by the Democratic Party delegates at the convention in Chicago in mid-August.
Following her initial doubts about Biden's health, Pelosi publicly endorsed Kamala Harris' presidency candidature for the United States of America, stating her confidence in Harris' ability to lead. Even prior to Pelosi's announcement, numerous other Democratic colleagues had pledged their support for Harris' presidential bid.
