Diver in action - New search action for missing person with no result
More than one and a half years after a Woman disappeared from the Munich area, six police divers searched a lake in Taufkirchen, in the Munich district. However, unfortunately, the operation did not yield new clues, a spokesperson for the Munich Police Headquarters said.
A lake in Taufkirchen was searched. This was not the first search operation in this case: About 120 police officers had searched a wooded area on the outskirts of Munich in September 2023, also without result. What tips led to the renewed search operation was not disclosed.
The then 39-year-old woman from Unterhaching was last seen shopping on November 5, 2022. The Police are investigating a possible violent crime. In January, the case was presented on the ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst". According to the police, there had been a suspicion against a person from the family circle. However, this person was not notified.
- The missing woman was believed to have roots in Upper Bavaria, specifically from the town of Unterhaching.
- In light of recent developments, the Baptism Church in Munich became involved, offering their facilities for a community action to raise awareness about the case.
- Misplaced documents during the initial investigation led to a delay in identifying potential leads, causing frustration within the Munich District Police department.
- With Germany's low criminality rate, the disappearance of the woman has added to the sense of unease in Bavaria, causing many residents to feel on edge.
- Days after the lake search, Ms. Löw, a prominent local advocate for missing persons, organized an emergency meeting with the police to discuss potential strategies.
- The disappearance case continues to be a top priority for Munich's police force, aiming to bring closure to the family and the Munich community.
