New car registrations in Germany on the rise
Following the expiry of the electric car purchase incentive for companies, the increase in cars with combustion engines was above average: New registrations of petrol cars and hybrids rose by 7.5 and 7.9 percent respectively. However, electric cars still managed an increase of 4.3 percent. Vehicles that no longer emit CO2 during operation now account for 17.1 percent of all new registrations, putting them ahead of diesel cars according to the KBA.
Despite the expiration of the electric car incentive for businesses, private purchases of new cars, including petrol and hybrid vehicles, saw significant growth in Germany. Consequently, private purchases of new cars, such as private purchases of a new car, contributed to a higher than average increase in new car registrations in Germany.
