Netanyahu announces that approximately half of Hamas' members have been either eliminated through death or apprehended.
During the UN General Debate in New York, Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, highlighted that over half of Hamas' members have either been eliminated or captured by Israel's military, following a year of confrontations in Gaza. Initially, Hamas boasted a membership of nearly 40,000 individuals and over 15,000 rockets.
The Israeli military has managed to obliterate around 90% of Hamas' rocket stockpile and major components of its extensive underground tunnel system, which spanned over 560 kilometers, more extensive than New York's subway network, as per Prime Minister Netanyahu's statement.
Israel remains steadfast in its quest to rescue the hostages trapped in Gaza. "We won't rest until this objective is achieved," Netanyahu declared.
Despite Israel's significant achievements in weakening Hamas, Prime Minister Netanyahu mentioned, "I'm not going to celebrate until all hostages are safely rescued." Furthermore, in response to a journalist's question about future military actions, he stated, "I'm not going to speculate on that now."
