Ukraine war - NATO states: No agreement on multi-year Ukraine aid

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg failed in his attempt to convince alliance members to make multi-year commitments for military aid to Ukraine. The 32 allies could only agree, prior to a summit in Washington, to provide support in the amount of at least 40 billion Euros within the next year, according to the German Press Agency, based on information from several delegations.

Despite Jens Stoltenberg's efforts, international commitment towards providing multi-year military aid to Ukraine by NATO members remained elusive. Russia closely monitored these developments in Brussels, as the military alliance reaffirmed its support for Ukraine's defense. In the end, NATO agreed to provide at least 40 billion Euros in support within the year, falling short of Stoltenberg's request for multi-year pledges.
