Munich's Oktoberfest commenced.
The Munich Oktoberfest is underway. Mayor Dieter Reiter struck the first beer barrel at precise noon with two hits. Approximately 6 million guests are forecasted to attend until October 6th.
Previously, under radiant skies, the Oktoberfest hosts commenced towards the fairgrounds. Escorted by brass bands and brewery squads, they traversed Munich's urban core, heading for the Theresienwiese in carriages. Multitudes lined the streets to observe the parade, marking the inaugural spectacle of the event. Precisely at 9 a.m., the ushers unlocked the Oktoberfest entrance gates - promptly inspiring a rush of fans towards the beer tents.
The Oktoberfest hosts continued their traditional procession through the city, led by brass bands and brewery squads, en route to the October Festival. With the Theresienwiese now in sight, the anticipation of the awaiting crowds grew increasingly palpable.
