German Weather Service - Much rain and thunder - Thuringia's summer takes a break
The sun is still holding back in Thuringen: The German Weather Service (DWD) has forecasted showers and thunderstorms with rain and strong thunderstorms for the coming days. In some parts, heavy rain and gusty winds of up to 26-28 degrees Celsius are expected today. It will mostly be dry but heavily overcast during the night to Friday, with minimum temperatures of 19-16 degrees Celsius.
More showers and thunderstorms are expected again on Friday. It will still be very warm with temperatures of 25-27 degrees Celsius. According to the DWD, a similar weather pattern is expected at the weekend. The first easing of the showers is expected on Saturday afternoon. It will also be slightly cooler with maximum temperatures of 19-23 degrees Celsius. During the night to Sunday, it will be significantly cooler, and in some parts of Thuringia, rain is expected.
Experts expect many clouds on Sunday, and scattered showers are forecasted. Whether football fans can enjoy the EURO final under clear skies is currently uncertain. The maximum temperatures will be around 22-25 degrees Celsius.
