Mourning people bid farewell to Adrian

After the death of the six-year-old Arian in Bremervörde, mourning relatives took leave of the child in a church. On a large screen, photos of the child's life were displayed. Simultaneously, he was buried in the closest family circle.

After the long-missing six-year-old Arian from the Lower Saxony town of Bremervörde was buried in the presence of his closest relatives, mourners were able to bid farewell to the child in the local church. The Catholic St. Michael Church in Bremervörde had been decorated by Arian's family - with many flowers, wreaths, burning candles, and balloons.

"You are not here where you were, but you are everywhere, where we are - Mama and Papa with Aaron," read a floral arrangement. On a large screen, photos from the life of the autistic child were displayed. The pictures showed Arian as a baby, as a toddler, and as a larger boy in everyday life and on outings.

Many people entered the church to say goodbye to the child. It is helpful to have this place for quiet remembrance, said Pastor Simon Laufer, who served as the media contact for the Catholic Church.

The child's burial was not public. For the protection of the family, the exact location was not disclosed by the Catholic community. A friend of Arian's family had collected money on the internet for the funeral.

The fundraising goal of 12,000 Euro was far exceeded, according to information on the website, with approximately 33,000 Euro being raised. The remaining sum, not used for the funeral, will go to institutions and organizations that support abandoned families, trauma work with children, and children with autism.

Arian disappeared from his home in Bremervörde on April 22. The police believe that the child left the house on his own and launched a large search operation. Hundreds of enforcement personnel and volunteers searched for the Six-year-old - day and night, on land, from the air, and in the water.

However, they did not find the child. At the end of June, a farmer discovered Arian's body while plowing a meadow - only a few kilometers from his home. The cause of death was not disclosed by the investigators for the protection of the family.

Despite the overwhelming support and extensive search efforts by the police and volunteers, the whereabouts of Arian remained unknown for over two months. International media coverage brought attention to his disappearance, sparking concern and support from people worldwide.

Following the tragic discovery of Arian's body, the local police initiated an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
