Nuremberg - Mother leaves one-year-old in the car at over 30 degrees

A mother left her one-year-old child alone in a car in Nuremberg when the temperature was over 30 degrees. According to the police, the fire department eventually broke a window of the car to free the girl. The mother reportedly wanted to accompany a friend to the airport on Saturday afternoon. She had left the child in the car during this time. According to reports, the car was parked in the sun with closed windows.

The airport fire department rescued the sweating child after several people simultaneously called the emergency number. According to the police spokesperson, the child had been sitting in the car for roughly half an hour. The child was reportedly treated on site by the police spokesperson and did not have to go to the hospital. The mother stated that she had gotten delayed. She reportedly intended to be gone for no more than five minutes. The police are now investigating the mother for negligent bodily harm, the spokesperson said.
