weather - More sun in Bavaria - Thunder risk remains
After a restless night with heavy thunderstorms predominantly in the south of Bavaria, the Free State is left with only a few thunderstorms heading its way in the night to Sunday. There may still be the occasional lightning bolt in Upper- and Lower-Bavaria, most likely between Berchtesgaden and the southern Bavarian Forest, according to a spokesperson for the German Weather Service (DWD) in Munich. Furthermore, there may be fog along the Danube in the night to Sunday with visibility below 150 meters in certain areas.
According to DWD, Sunday will bring some cloud cover in addition to several sunny spells. In the afternoon and evening, there will be a slight chance of showers in the Alps, and a solitary lightning bolt is also possible. Temperatures are expected to rise to between 22 and 28 degrees.
Monday is predicted to be frequently sunny by DWD, although a cloud cover is expected to form from the west at the beginning of the day. The risk of thunderstorms and showers will increase in the south. Temperatures will reach 27 to 32 degrees.
The thunderstorms on Saturday night mainly affected the southern part of Bavaria, including Berchtesgaden, leading to a restless night. Despite the preceding storms, the weather forecast for Sunday in Berchtesgaden and the Alps suggests some cloud cover, several sunny spells, and a slight chance of showers, with a lone lightning bolt possible in the afternoon or evening. The sunny spell on Monday in Bavaria may however be disrupted by thunderstorms and showers in the south, particularly in areas close to the Alps.
