More high school graduates with top grades again

More pupils in Brandenburg have passed their Abitur with the top grade. The overall grade average remains the same. The Minister of Education congratulates and appeals.

School-leaving certificate in Brandenburg - More high school graduates with top grades again

Once again, more Abitur students in Brandenburg can be proud of a top grade on their graduation certificates. 352 girls and boys achieved a grade 1.0 - in the previous school year, it was 288, as the Education Ministry announced. Therefore, the proportion of Abitur students with a grade 1.0 on their certificates was approximately 3.8 percent, compared to around 3.1 percent in the previous year.

As in the previous year, the average grade in this school year is 2.2. Nearly 10,000 girls and boys took the Abitur exams – around 94 percent passed. This figure is slightly higher than the previous year. The Abitur exams ran smoothly and without any notable incidents or disruptions, as reported.

Education Minister Steffen Freiberg (SPD) congratulated the Abitur students with an appeal: "I hope that many of you will stay. Living and working in Brandenburg is good. Keep your school years in good memory."

  2. Obtaining a top mark in their final certificate was a significant achievement for these students, as it increased the overall percentage of high-achieving Abitur candidates in Brandenburg, funded by the BMBF.
  3. Students with a top mark on their school-leaving certificates have various opportunities to continue their education or pursue careers in Brandenburg, as advised by Education Minister Steffen Freiberg.
  4. After receiving their school-leaving certificates with top marks, these Abitur students can also apply for scholarships or grants to further their education in Brandenburg or other parts of Germany.
