Middle East - More dead in attacks and fighting in the Gaza Strip
Israel's Army continues to target areas in several regions in the Gaza Strip, according to its own reports. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that 16 Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured.
Israel's Military announced that they were taking action against targets of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the city of Gaza. The Israeli forces have been in action there for several days. "So far, the operational forces have eliminated dozens of terrorists," the statement read.
According to Wafa, in an Israeli attack on a building in the city, six people were killed. Rescuers then rescued a live child from the rubble. The report also mentioned that there were further, deadly attacks on the city in the northern coastal region.
The Army is reportedly continuing its operations in the Shejaiya neighborhood in the city of Gaza and in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The army also reportedly killed many terrorists in these areas.
Israel's Army: No Evacuation of Hospitals in Combat Areas
Wafa reported, citing medical sources, that Israeli forces had forced doctors of Al-Ahli Hospital in the city of Gaza to close the clinic. After the area around the clinic came under heavy fire, all patients and refugees who were there had to leave the hospital. The Israeli Military denied the report.
Although civilians were called upon as a precaution to leave the combat areas of Gaza City, the call did not apply to hospitals and medical facilities. The army informed representatives of the Palestinian healthcare system that it was not necessary to evacuate clinics in that area. Many people, including patients, had reportedly left Al-Ahli Hospital according to previous Palestinian reports.
